Quick Strength for Runners

Jeff Horowitz's book Quick Strength for Runners: 8 Weeks to a Better Runner's Body suggests exercises and, even better, offers wisdom. Three gems:

  • "Even a short workout is much better than no workout at all, so do not aim for perfection in each session." (Chapter 2)
  • "Remember, there is no need to rush this process. As long as you are challenging yourself, at whatever level, you are improving." (Chapter 3)
  • "Don’t make the mistake of leaving your day’s best effort in the warm-up." (Chapter 4)
  • "Indeed, you can think of the fitness that you build by working your way through the exercises in this book as preparing you not just for better running, but also for a better, more active life. And that, more than anything, should be the real goal of all your training. Treat your life as an adventure, on the roads, on the trails, and wherever your imagination may take you." (Chapter 6)
